🇳🇱 ¡Hola! Ik ben Virginia Carrasco. Ik kom uit Argentinië, uit de provincie Buenos Aires. Sinds 2022 woon ik in Nederland. Ik heb eerst twee jaar in Amsterdam-Noord gewoond en woon nu in Lelystad, Flevoland, samen met mijn partner, die ook Argentijns is.

Sinds mijn kindertijd hou ik van boeken en woorden – lezen en schrijven. Daarom besloot ik een universitaire opleiding tot docent Taal- en Letterkunde te volgen in Argentinië. Ik heb op middelbare scholen gewerkt als docent Spaans (taal en literatuur). Aan de universiteit werkte ik ook als assistent-docent in cursussen Taalkunde en Didactiek.

Op dit moment werk ik mee aan een onderzoeksproject over neologismen – nieuwe woorden in de Spaanse taal. We verzamelen nieuwe woorden uit de geschreven pers in het Spaans om hun opname in het Diccionario de la Lengua Española van de RAE (Real Academia Española) voor te stellen, momenteel het belangrijkste woordenboek van de Spaanse taal.

Mijn nieuwsgierigheid bracht me ook even naar de IT-sector, maar uiteindelijk besloot ik Spaans te gaan onderwijzen aan anderstaligen – een vakgebied waarin verschillende van mijn interesses samenkomen: Spaanse grammatica, de literatuur en cultuur van Latijns-Amerika en Spanje, en de kans om van andere talen en culturen te leren via contact met studenten van over de hele wereld.

Ik volgde een opleiding aan Academia Buenos Aires, een instelling in Argentinië erkend door het Instituto Cervantes. In Nederland heb ik ook de opleiding gevolgd tot examinator voor de DELE A1- en A2-examens aan het Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht.

Ik spreek Engels, een beetje Braziliaans Portugees (want dat is niet helemaal hetzelfde als het Portugees uit Portugal), Nederlands (dat leer ik elke dag een beetje meer) en Tsjechisch.

Al meer dan zes jaar wijd ik mij aan het lesgeven in het Spaans.
Op dit moment geef ik online lessen aan studenten van over de hele wereld en fysieke lessen in Lelystad aan Nederlandse studenten.Voorlopig geef ik alleen les aan volwassenen.

Mijn hobby’s zijn: klassieke literatuur lezen, werken in mijn tuin, klassieke of sciencefictionfilms kijken, borduren, naaien en pianospelen.

🇬🇧 ¡Hola! I’m Virginia Carrasco. I’m from Argentina, from the province of Buenos Aires. Since 2022, I’ve been living in the Netherlands. I first lived for two years in Amsterdam Noord, and I currently live in Lelystad, Flevoland, with my partner, who is also Argentine.

Since I was a child, I’ve always loved books and words—reading and writing. I decided to study for a degree in Language and Literature Teaching at university in Argentina. I worked in secondary schools teaching Spanish Language and Literature. At university, I worked as an assistant lecturer in Linguistics and Didactics courses.I am currently collaborating on a research project about neologisms—new words in the Spanish language. We collect new words from the Spanish written press to suggest their inclusion in the Diccionario de la Lengua Española of the RAE (Royal Spanish Academy), which is currently the most important dictionary of the Spanish language.

My curiosity also led me to work for a while in the IT sector, but eventually, I decided to begin teaching Spanish to foreigners—an area that combined several of my interests: Spanish grammar, the literature and culture of Latin America and Spain, and the opportunity to learn from other cultures and languages by being in contact with students from around the world.I trained at Academia Buenos Aires, an institution in Argentina endorsed by the Cervantes Institute. In the Netherlands, I completed the training course to become an examiner for the DELE A1 and A2 exams at the Cervantes Institute in Utrecht.I speak English, a bit of Brazilian Portuguese (because it’s not exactly the same as the Portuguese from Portugal), Dutch (I’m still learning it a little more every day), and Czech.

For over 6 years, I have been dedicated to teaching Spanish.I currently teach online classes to students from all over the world and in-person classes in Lelystad to Dutch students.For now, I only offer classes to adults.

My hobbies are reading literary classics, working in my garden, watching classic or science fiction movies, embroidering, sewing, and practicing the piano.
